The song remix is expected to boost sales of 'Last Friday Night' and eventually push her to No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 and make another chart record.

Katy Perry has recorded a remix of her current single "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)" with female rapper Missy Elliott. She's going to release the revamped version on radios, Internet and digital retailers this coming Monday, August 8.
The remix comes hot on heels of Katy's close step to score her fifth "Teenage Dream" No. 1 single with the original version of "Last Friday Night". She just missed out the chance to sit at the top spot of Billboard Hot 100, but if airplay and streams of the track are strong enough, it could push the song to No. 1 in the coming weeks.
If Katy climbs to No.1, she will break another chart record. It will make her tied with Michael Jackson whose 1987's "Bad" had generated five separate No. 1s. She will lead Justin Timberlake's 2006 "FutureSex/LoveSounds" and Lady GaGa's 2009 "The Fame" which both had four singles sitting at the top spot.
Earlier this year, Katy has already broken Hot 100 record. She spent 52 consecutive weeks - an entire year - in the top 10 of the U.S. single chart. She becomes the first artist in more than five-decade history to achieve such feat. Prior to her, Ace of Base had occupied the Hot 100's top 10 for 48 straight weeks.
