Hayden Panettiere's romance to Wladimir Klitschko has come to a sad end. The "Heroes" star and the boxing champion called it quits after two years of dating but said in two statements that they remain friends.
Panettiere told People, "Even though we've decided splitting up is best for both of us, we have an amazing amount of love and respect for each other and remain very close friends." Klitschko was even more clear about the reason of split, saying, "We had a great time together, but it's not that easy to manage a relationship between two continents."
He added, "I have a lot of respect for Hayden as a person and as a friend, and I believe we'll keep our friendship even after the separation."
The couple was last seen together at the recent Tribeca Film Festival in New York for the premiere of a documentary about Klitschko and his brother Vitali. Panettiere previously dated her "Heroes" co-star Milo Ventimiglia for about a year.
