Selected among the crowd, Omarion steps up as the new judge of "America's Best Dance Crew". Starting the upcoming fifth season, the former member of B2K will be the third judge to sit beside Lil Mama and JC Chasez. It was previously reported that beside Omarion, Missy Elliott, Ne-Yo and "Step Up 2 the Streets" director John Chu were considered for the position.

"I'm so excited to be a judge on MTV's 'America's Best Dance Crew'," Omarion said in a statement. "Dancing and performing is what I do and being a judge on this show will allow me to give creative feedback to the newest and hottest dancers on the rise."

Senior president of series development Liz Gateley said that Omarion is an "accomplished dancer, artist and actor" who knows what makes a good dance crew performance. Executive Producer Randy Jackson chimed in, "Omarion is a great friend, and I am looking forward to him joining the 'ABDC' family. Season five is going to be blazing hot."

The fifth season will begin January 28 at 10/9c.

The original judge Shane Sparks, who is also a choreographer on "So You Think You Can Dance" was arrested in December 2009 after being accused of molesting child. He is charged with eight counts of felony and is awaiting trial.
