Giving first looks at the magical dagger, Jake Gyllenhaal's Dastan, Gemma Arterton's Tamina and the action-packed adventure they are in, the newly-released official trailer for "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" also showed a lack of demonic creatures. In an interview with IGN, creator Jordan Mechner confirmed that "there are no sand monsters in the movie."

"For the game, turning everybody in the world into sand monsters was really useful because it created an inexhaustible supply of enemies," the screenwriter explained on the reason why. "But that's a story that's meant to be played with a controller in your hand, and a movie is meant to be shared by an audience. So we didn't want to make a movie about fighting monsters."

On the action sequences, the video game designer gushed, "The parkour here is very exciting, very extreme." Producer Jerry Bruckheimer chimed in, "We brought in the key experts out of France. At the opening of the movie there's a young man [Will Foster] who portrays Jake's character as a young boy. He was a parkour expert; he was 10 years old. They were amazing, absolutely amazing."

When the question about a possible sequel in the future arose, Bruckheimer took over saying, "There was nothing in Pirates [of the Caribbean] that we thought would make another movie...but we'll do the same thing if the public embraces us. We'll take what's in this movie and embellish upon it. You just don't know."

He continued, "But if you have smart people working with you - which fortunately, we do - they figure out what they can take, like they did on Pirates. [Screenwriters] Ted [Elliott] and Terry [Rossio] took those ideas and created three films, and now we're doing a fourth with them."

"Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" is directed by "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" helmer Mike Newell. It follows Dastan and Tamina as they team up to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world. The action adventure is set to be released in the U.S. on May 28, 2010.
