Jackie Earle Haley has given the updates to the forthcoming "A Nightmare on Elm Street". While walking down the red carpet of Scream 2009, the new Freddy Krueger made time to talk about the horror movie remake with Bloody-Disgusting, addressing questions from the voice of the villain to fans' reactions to sequel possibility.

Asked about Freddy's voice, the 48-year-old shared that he and the filmmakers involved are still working on it. "We're still getting it out there," he explained. "We've actually been working on that for the last 3 days, doing some ADR work and will probably continue. It's a normal process of post-production."

Meanwhile on the positive feedback from the fans, he responded, "I've been pretty thrilled with all of the responses, it looks really cool. A lot of people wish it was Robert [Englund in the remake] and I get that, he's made this character iconic and he's iconic as well, it's a tough thing and hopefully when the movie comes out people will dig it."

As for whether or not he will reprise the role should a sequel is made, he said, "You know, I would imagine, I'm signed on so we'll see how it goes." He further added, "It's looking really good, I've been in there working on the film and finally seeing some sequences and I'm really thrilled with what [director] Sam[uel Bayer] and the guys are putting together!"

Produced by Michael Bay, Bradley Fuller and Andrew Form under Platinum Dunes banner, "A Nightmare on Elm Street" is a remake of 1984 Wes Craven's movie of the same name. Rooney Mara, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker and Kellan Lutz are among the cast ensemble. To be released in the U.S. on April 30, 2010, it centers on Freddy Krueger, a serial killer who haunts teenagers in their dreams and kills them while they are fast asleep.
