For four hours straight on early Wednesday, August 26, Patrick Stump was held at Los Angeles County Jail for violating a traffic rule. The singer of Fall Out Boy was released at approximately 4.30 in the morning after posting a bail. He talked to MTV News 90 minutes later to personally describe the situation.
"All I really have to say is ignorance of the law isn't innocence," he said. "I didn't want to give up my Illinois driver's license and was unaware that was a crime. It is, by the way, in the state of California. Lesson learned. I technically broke a law, so technically I deserve whatever I get. But man, is my mom gonna be pissed."
Stump was pulled over during a traffic stop by Los Angeles police late Tuesday. The officers ran his record and discovered that he has a 2007 warrant issued for his arrest for driving without license. "This is all very routine," L.A. Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told E! News. "He had to post bail. Actually he got bonded out very quickly." Stump posted a $15,000 bail.
Fall Out Boy are scheduled to fly to England this Friday, August 28 as part of being Reading and Leeds Festival line-up.
