Catherine Hardwicke, the director of successful vampire movie "Twilight", may land "21 Jump Street" as her next project. The Hollywood Reporter said the filmmaker is in early talks with Sony to direct the remake of the undercover cop TV series, which made actor Johnny Depp a household name in late '80s.

"21 Jump Street" is currently developed by Jonah Hill alongside Joe Gazzam and Michael Bacall. Hill is said to be possibly starring in the remake, while Neal H. Moritz serves as the producer. The movie is said to be an action-heavy retelling the original story. The TV series itself, which was aired by FOX, centered on a group of cop who look young enough to work undercover in high schools and colleges and search out troubled kids.

Beside eying "21 Jump Street", Catherine Hardwicke has also been reported to be in negotiation to helm "The Girl with the Red Riding Hood". The movie is a reboot of classic fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood" and is developed by Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way. It is said to be a "gothic update" of the Grimm Bros. tale, which followed a young crimson-caped girl and her encounter with a wolf in grandmom's clothing.

Hardwicke is currently attached to direct "Hamlet", a modern adaption of the William Shakespeare's novel. She lands another directing job for Columbia Pictures' "Maximum Ride", before she is hired again by Summit to helm "If I Stay". The 43-year-old filmmaker's directorial debut was the 2003's "Thirteen", which she co-wrote with "Twilight" star Nikki Reed.
