Richard Kelly's 'The Box' Delayed Again
Movie

Facing several date changes earlier before settling for an October 30 theatrical release, the horror movie starring Cameron Diaz and James Marsden is being pushed back once again to a November slot.

Another shift on the theatrical release schedule for "The Box" has been arranged by Warner Bros. Pictures. Having been set to come out in the U.S. during the Halloween weekend on October 30, the horror movie from "Donnie Darko" director Richard Kelly is now being bumped to a new date on November 6.

Bloody-Disgusting which brought the news to attention doesn't provide any reason on why the studio made the move though. The new date distances "The Box" from Lionsgate's horror thriller "Saw VI", which is set to be released two weeks earlier on October 23. On the November 6 slot, however, it will face off against Disney's "A Christmas Carol (2009)".

Based on the 1970 short story "Button, Button" by author Richard Matheson, "The Box" centers on Norma and Arthur Lewis, an ordinary suburban couple whose dreams are slipping away as their need for money increasingly grows. When a box mysteriously appears in their doorstep, the couple is presented with life-altering proposition of getting $1 million only with a press of a button.

However, pressing the button means another human being somewhere in the world will be killed. Having only 24 hours to decide, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a startling moral dilemma. Cameron Diaz and James Marsden team up as the couple. Academy Award-nominated Frank Langella joins them in the cast ensemble.
