Before presenting "The Book of Eli" at San Diego Comic Con 2009, Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first trailer of the apocalyptic thriller. The promotional video takes the focus on main character Eli, starred by veteran actor Denzel Washington, who explains what happens in the future and what his role in saving humanity is.

Beside presenting a better look at Eli, the video also unravels a peek at several other characters, including Mila Kunis' Solara and Gary Oldman's Carnegie. It is filled with action sequences and explosions as well. Halfway through the trailer, Eli displays his impressive fighting skills in knocking down his enemies alone.

Warners is expected to show footage of this movie at Comic Con 2009 on Friday, July 24 during its panel scheduled from 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Hall H.
