Susan Boyle is set to cross over the continent and make a cameo on ABC's "Ugly Betty". The aspiring singer, who made fame through her "Britain's Got Talent" performance, will join the hit series for an undisclosed amount of episodes later in the fourth season.

The Sun, which was first to give out the story quoted a source "close to the star" as saying, "Susan has been bombarded with offers of work in America, but this is something she is really keen on and we hope to make happen." Regarding what role she will play in the comedy, the source added, "She will definitely play herself."

Meanwhile, Susan's spokeswoman won't either confirm or deny the report. She stated, "Susan has many offers on the table. At the moment she is looking forward to recording her album."

Previously Becki Newton who plays Amanda in the series, said that it would be a great idea to have Susan appearing on the show. "I think she'd be amazing. I think Ugly Betty taps into pop culture so that these random characters become perfect for the show somehow," she said, adding "It might be a bit strange to have Susan Boyle on Ugly Betty, but they (the writers) have got such a great way of incorporating these people in a way that makes it really funny."
