Finding it hard to stand the media spotlight and public attention addressed to him, Zac Efron says he sometimes getting sick seeing his own face all over the media.

"I get sick of seeing my own face around," Zac Efron tells USA Weekend magazine in an interview. "I didn't want to be famous. I used to get so frustrated. For a while, I felt like I was completely lost in celebrity-land. I didn't know how to handle it. Now I know that I have to plot where I'm going, when I'm going there and where the back entrance is. It's like I'm playing a giant game of tag," he continues talking about how he found it hard to handle his fame when he first became popular.
On his life before he was famous, Zac shares that as a kid he "played sports on weekends -- baseball, basketball." He goes on admitting, "And when I sucked at those, I started playing golf and ping-pong in the garage. After I lost interest, I started singing. I was always singing to the point where my parents would shout, 'Shut up, Zac! Enough already!'"
As for his acting career, Zac reveals, "I'm at a transition point." Regarding the statement, he explains, "My taste is changing. I'm growing up," adding that he hopes his upcoming big screen flick "17 Again" can help him "shift into adult material." The 21-year-old hunk also reveals his future expectation, telling the new issue of USA Weekend, "I'm definitely not the best actor in the world at this point. But hopefully, with time and effort and smart decisions, that will change."
Zac Efron claims his international stardom with his starring role as Troy Bolton in the two "High School Musical" TV movie series and its big screen adaptation titled "High School Musical 3: Senior Year." He recently became talk of the town after deciding to drop out of the upcoming "Footloose" remake. His film "17 Again" is about to be released in U.S. theaters next Friday, April 17.
