Young country music star Taylor Swift gives away her prom dress to charity. The songstress hands down the gown which is of Jessica McClintock's designs to Hearst Magazines' DonateMyDress.org, "the first national network to bring together local dress drive organizations across the U.S., to help girls give and find the dress of their dreams," People exclusively reports.
Speaking of her decision to donate the dress, Taylor is quoted as stating, "I chose to give away this prom dress because I wore it once and loved it! To keep it around, hanging there all by itself and lonely in my closet, never to be worn again seemed a little pointless." She adds, "I want another girl somewhere to feel good in it and have a great prom night because of this dress."
According to People, Taylor's long cream and gold prom dress is sold for $1,200 at DonateMyDress.org.
In related news, it has been reported that Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Nikki Blonsky, Eva Amurri, and Ashley Greene have also donated their dresses to the auction run by CharityFolks.com. No record on how much each of the stars' dresses is sold for.
