TV

Injured even before 'Dancing with the Stars' takes off on March 9, Jewel Kilcher is said to be replaced by Playboy bunny Holly Madison.

Words on the street are Jewel Kilcher will not recuperate in time to compete in "Dancing with the Stars" and therefore has been replaced by Playboy mate Holly Madison. Co-star of the "The Girls Next Door" star even has come out in public to confirm this, saying that Holly has been dreaming about a slot but never got a chance to do it until now.

Jewel announced on her blog last week that she has suffered from inflammation of tendon that makes her knees hurt. She has been taking medication since and still has a high spirit of joining her husband Ty Murray who also competes this season. "Hopefully these steroids will really do the trick and I can keep bad flare ups at a (sic) bay in the future," she said.

A source close to Jewel also dished out that the country singer is still on for the show's premiere on Monday, March 9. She is also still scheduled to make a promotional appearance on CMT Insider on Saturday, March 7 in support of the show.

No official statement has been released regarding the replacement of Jewel by Holly which was first reported by Us Magazine. But Bridget Marquardt talked to FOX News, saying "I'm so excited for her. She's wanted to do it for so long, it just never worked with her schedule and Hef was always like 'I don't want you to do that,' and now it's her time, so I'm really happy for her."
