An exclusive behind-the-scenes look at "Terminator Salvation" has been provided by The Insider. Aside from exhibiting the filming of some explosive scenes as well as the stunt sequences Christian Bale did, the on-set footage also shows Bale rehearsing for one crucial scene for the film before the shooting takes place.
Through the behind-the-scenes video, it is also unraveled that the actor also experienced a mishap during the shooting of the lake scene. "It was a challenging scene - we had to build a lake - and Christian went for it as he always does," director McG recalled. "He turned an ankle when he jumped off the helicopter, but he survived and was able to make it to the water's edge."
The director further explained on Bale's willingness to do his own stunt, saying "He wants to do everything himself; he's a guy who really likes to feel it. But there's insurance issues and you get producers to come out and sort of de-engage him from the hook which he's about to hang from the side of the building." Meanwhile, on the Arnold Schwarzenegger's cameo rumor, he responded, "It's hard to say. That's one of the secrets of the picture, so I suppose that one's for May 21st."
"Terminator Salvation" is the fourth installment of the "Terminator" franchise. Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, it follows a stranger whose past could not be justified, Marcus Wright, when he joins John Connor in his resistance army. In addition to Christian Bale, the movie also sees Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood, Common, Anton Yelchin, Bryce Dallas Howard and Helena Bonham Carter among the cast. It is slated for U.S. release on May 21.
