Bryan Lee O'Malley, the creator and author of "Scott Pilgrim" comic book, has confirmed his involvement on "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" at 2009 New York Comic Con on Sunday, February 8. "I've officially been a script consultant, but really I've read every draft before anyone else has and have done a lot of contributions of my own," so the cartoonist claimed as quoted by IGN.

Explaining further, he stated, "Some stuffs from the early drafts of my scripts have ended up in the movie and some stuff from the movie have ended up in my books." Nonetheless, he added, "There's really not much else to say because it hasn't really started yet. Everything that you know I know. Hopefully, I'll get to go and see them shooting and hopefully it will be a good movie. I don't know."

A feature film adaptation of "Scott Pilgrim" black-and-white graphic novels, "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" will be directed by "Shaun of the Dead" helmer Edgar Wright. It will have Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram, and Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim. Filming will begin in Toronto this spring.
