VFX Featurette of 'The Spirit' Brought Forth

Frank Miller and several cast and crew of 'The Spirit' talk about some of the film's visual effects in the behind-the-scenes featurette of the comic adaptation.

AceShowbiz - A brand new featurette for "The Spirit" has been unraveled. Highlighting on the visual effects the movie has, the behind-the-scene video includes commentary from director Frank Miller, visual effect supervisor Stu Maschwitz and cast members, Samuel L. Jackson and Eva Mendes about how the movie comes to life with the help of the VFX.

While Miller and Maschwitz discuss on how the idea for the movie is materialized, Jackson and Mendes talk about their experiences shooting with the green screen. In it, Miller also explains on his vision of re-introducing color as an powerful element. The featurette also brings many footage, exposing the filming of some scenes and the final result of the scene after the visual effect is added.

Adapted from Will Eisner's comic book series, "The Spirit" revolves around Denny Colt, a former rookie cop who returns mysteriously from the dead as masked crusader named The Spirit. Aiming to fight crime from the shadows of Central City, Spirit tracks down his arch-enemy, The Octopus, who is in pursue of immortality.

On his quest, he is faced with a string of beautiful ladies who either want to seduce, love or kill him from the whip-smart girl-next-door Ellen Dolan to the jewel thief with dangerous curves Sand Saref. Starring Gabriel Macht as Spirit, it features the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Sarah Paulson, Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johansson, Jaime King, Paz Vega and Stana Katic. It will be opened in U.S. big screen on Christmas Day, December 25.
