"Doubt", a movie adaptation of John Patrick Shanley's Pulitzer Prize winning play, has shared out the first look into the Miramax Films drama through fresh trailer. Providing a clue to what the movie is all about, the compilation of footages let out sneak peak into the main characters played by Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams.
Set against the backdrop of a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, the film highlights on a difficult decision faced by Bronx Catholic school principal. Suspecting that Father Flynn is sexually-abusing a black student, Sister Aloysius confronts him on the matter but the priest denies the accusation. Having no witness and no evident on the matter, she continues to pursue for the truth, putting a young nun in the middle of the tense confrontation.
Addressing religion, morality and authority, "Doubt" is helmed and adapted by playwright John Patrick Shanley who is known also for his feature film works in "Moonstruck" and "Congo". Shot in various areas of Bronx and Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn in New York City, it also sees Viola Davis, Lloyd Clay Brown, Joseph Foster and Bridget Megan Clark as the cast ensemble. The flick will have its limited release on December 12.
