An update of his latest condition has been released by his attorneys who confirmed that he's recovering from surgery as a result of the accident and will be back to work within one month.

AceShowbiz - Shia LaBeouf is at it again, run-in with the law. The actor was injured in a car crash in Hollywood on Sunday morning, July 27 and was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI), the Associated Press reports.

Chronicling on the accident, Sergeant S. Wolf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told AP that Shia was allegedly making a left turn at a West Hollywood intersection at around 3 A.M. Sunday when his green Ford F150 pickup struck another car and rolled over twice. "It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest," Wolf told the AP.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation. Shia's publicists and attorneys have yet commented on the accident their client experienced.

And while his female passenger and the woman driving the other vehicle suffered minor injuries, Shia himself was being treated for injuries to his left hand and knee, as well as a minor head injury. All of them were taken to Cedars-Medical Center, where the women were treated and released.

Soon following his hospital visit, Shia reportedly underwent surgery for injuries to his left hand. As of press time, he's recovering from surgery, his representative has confirmed.

"Attorneys for Mr. LaBeouf confirm that an automobile accident involving an additional party occurred early morning in Los Angeles on July 27, 2008," Melissa Kates said in a statement issued Sunday evening. "Shia is currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of Transformers 2 within one month. No further comment will be issued at this time."

In its further report, the AP stated that Shia will not be booked on felony DUI charges. He instead is simply cited and released on suspicion of DUI misdemeanor. He was given an August court date.
