Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban name their new arrival Sunday Rose, and grandpa Anthony has an explanation for that.

AceShowbiz - Questions have been directed on the peculiar name given to the baby of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Sunday Rose, who saw the light for the first time on Monday, July 7. Providing the explanation is Nicole's father Dr. Anthony Kidman who said that that it's actually as simple as a homage to their Australian roots.

Anthony happened to read an article about Sunday Reed, an Australian who helped preserving the country's art and culture with her husband John Reed. "There was a lady named Sunday Reed who was a prominent patron of the arts in Victoria. I have read a bit about Sunday Reed and her husband John - she was a key mover and shaker in the arts around the beginning of the century," he told Australia's Daily Telegraph. "The name Sunday struck me as being a nice name for a woman, so my wife and I mentioned it."

Sunday Reed's work apparently also came across Nicole and Keith's path when in January they visited the Art Gallery of New South Wales where the works of Sidney Nolan were displayed. Nolan is an Australian artist who took Sunday Reed as his muse.

As for the second name, Rose, it is known that Keith has a grandmother of the same name.

Kidman's Mother Janelle and sister Antonia have flown from Australia to meet the new arrival on Tuesday, July 8. On the same day, Australian publications reported that the baby has been taken home by their proud parents.
