This surely will be the biggest role "Charlie Bartlett" star Anton Yelchin has ever landed in his acting career to date.

Yes, there's no doubt of it as the young actor has already been picked up to play Pavel Chekov in none other than Paramount Pictures' highly-anticipated sci-fi action adventure "Star Trek", The Hollywood Reporter has revealed.

Chekov, played by Walter Koenig in the small screen installments of the franchise, is described as the Russian-born navigator of the USS Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk. The character was created by the series creator Gene Roddenberry in his response to a Pravda article that noted that although the Soviet Union was a leader in space exploration, the international crew of the Enterprise lacked a Russian character.

With Yelchin's inclusion, the pic thereby has got three names in the cast so far, the other two being Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy, who will portray the young and old Mr. Spock, respectively. Casting is still under way now in New York and London for the roles of Kirk, Bones, Uhura, Sulu, Scotty, the film's villain, and the Federation captain, the latter two being expected to have bigger-name actors on board.
