"Venus Kincaid" helmer Darren Grant has landed his new directing stint in dance movie "Make It Happen."

Seemingly walking on steady path in his directing career, Darren Grant has signed on to helm "Make It Happen", a film feature about the world of American burlesque formerly known as "Untitled Bille Woodruff Project", Variety has revealed.

Just sold to The Weinstein Co. banner, the dance flick focuses on a small town dreamer who moves to Chicago with the hopes of joining a prestigious dance company. Things, however, unexpectedly go haywire for the aspiring dancer, forcing her to work in a burlesque club instead.

Shooting is due to begin on August 7 this year in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Tessa Thompson both starring and Grant carrying out his task from script penned by Duane Adler. Adler, a graduate of the University of Maryland, is no stranger to dance movies, having penned screenplays for both 2001’s "Save the Last Dance" and last year’s "Step Up."
