Director Zack Snyder has assured that he will get Gerard Butler a starring slot in "Watchmen."

Giving response to Gerard Butler's remark earlier pointing out his doubt on whether he would really take part in "Watchmen", helmer Zack Snyder has stated to MTV that he will find out a way to have the "300" star kept sticking to the project for sure.

"Yeah, we'll find a spot for him," the Green Bay-born filmmaker told the music network at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards red carpet. "They'll let him [off the other sets for a while]; he's not gonna get out that easy."

In the meantime, Snyder surprisingly showed no hint of denial upon being asked about the recent casting rumor which speculated names like Jude Law, Keanu Reeves, and Patrick Wilson were on the run to take starring roles in the flick.

"Um - you know what? I would say 'No,' but then you'd call me later and go like, 'Dude, what are you doing?'" the man laughed. "I don't know who's leaking this stuff, but they're good."

More to say, Snyder also informed that shooting is slated to start this September in Canada with he most looking forward to film the opening scene of the picture.

"At the beginning of the movie there's a character called the Comedian," he said. "He gets in a fight with a guy that we don't know who it is, and [the Comedian] gets thrown out a window. That's what I'm working on right now, and it's pretty intense."
