Manages to secure a slot in the swelling lineup, Mischa Barton has reached deals to take part in comedy flick "St. Trinian's", joining those like Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, Lena Headey, Stephen Fry, and Jodie Whittaker, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

A new film take on the classic British comedy franchise that spawned several popular movies in the 1950s and 1960s, the picture presents a story about a motley crew of ungovernable girls studying at the infamous school who tries to save the institution from financial meltdown with their wit and ingenuity. Also onboard to star are model Lily Cole, comedian Russell Brand, and U.K. pop act Girls Aloud.

Oliver Parker and Barnaby Thompson are both in charge to direct for Ealing Studios from script penned by writing duo Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft with U.K. Film Council backing up. The helmers will also serve as the producers alongside Mark Hubbard while Everett and Nigel Green are executive producing.
