Harvey Weinstein Eyeing All-Star Cast for
Movie

The Weinstein Co. exec Harvey Weinstein is lining up a number of big names as the potential stars for the studio's musical "Nine."

AceShowbiz -

Seems to be pretty ambitious in developing the recently-announced "Nine", The Weinstein Co. co-chairman Harvey Weinstein reportedly is determined to have some Hollywood's biggest names in the cast of the musical project.

The movie mogul has been spotted to remark that he would like A-list actresses of Gwyneth Paltrow, Anne Hathaway, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Catherine Zeta-Jones, plus Renee Zellweger to fill in the six major female roles of the picture, and appears to take it rather lightly in dealing with their salaries.

"We'll figure it out," he remarked. "There are roles for six women in the movie who have to be beautiful and sing and dance. It's a terrible assignment to cast this."

Already had Rob Marshall at helm, the flick is a film adaptation of the 1982 Broadway musical of the same title which centers on a filmmaker named Guido Contini who is facing a mid-life crisis and trying to deal with the women in his life. Marshall and Weinstein are said to consider Johnny Depp, George Clooney, Antonio Banderas, and Javier Bardem to play the character.
