In the international slot, 9/11 drama "United 93" successfully swept two top prizes of Film of the Year and Director of the Year for Paul Greengrass, in the meantime also scoring the man, Tim Bevan, and Eric Fellner the British Producer of the Year honor.

Glowing as the best in British filmmaking was "The Queen" which garnered four trophies altogether, notably the Attenborough Award for British Film of the Year. The other three were given to Helen Mirren as the British Actress of the Year, Stephen Frears as the British Director of the Year, and Peter Morgan as Screenwriter of the Year.

For the acting categories, Actor and Actress of the Year titles delightfully went to Forest Whitaker of "The Last King of Scotland" and Meryl Streep of "The Devil Wears Prada", respectively. Streep's co-star Emily Blunt also took home an award for being the British Actress of the Year in a Supporting Role, accompanied by Michael Caine of "The Prestige" in the opposite category.
