It's official now that David Lee Roth is rejoining the American hard rock band Van Halen.

The rumors appear to be true when frontman Eddie Van Halen confirmed that David Lee Roth is rejoining Van Halen for a 40-city North American tour.

In a statement posted on the group's Web site Friday February 2nd, guitarist Eddie said in a statement, "I am very excited to get back to the core of what made Van Halen."

It will be the first time that Roth performs live with the band since 1984, when he was replaced by Sammy Hagar. Original bassist Michael Anthony, in the meantime, will not be a part of the reunion as he's been replaced by Van Halen's 15-year-old son Wolfgang late last year.

On a more personal note, the American hard rock band will on March 12th later this year be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at a ceremony in New York. Stand by for we'll keep you more with the band's tour dates.
