Finally, a date has been picked up for the superhero fans to see "The Incredible Hulk" embrace the big screen. Marvel Studios, through its President and COO Michael Helfant plus President of Production Kevin Feige, has announced yesterday, November 6 that the action-packed, new big screen adaptation of the famed comic series will come to the surface exactly on June 27, 2008.

Directed by Louis Leterrier from the script penned by "X-Men: The Last Stand" writer Zak Penn, the project will return to the roots of the series which combining a well-developed storyline with incredible action and fun. Casting process is currently underway with Michael Helfant, David Womark, and Ari Arad serving as executive producers.

"'The Incredible Hulk' will be the type of fun, high-octane event film people have come to expect from Marvel," Feige remarked. "We could not be more excited about this project and our summer 2008 prospects now that we have both our green goliath and our highly-anticipated 'Iron Man' set for release."

In the meantime, Marvel Studios is going full-force in producing the picture independently through its $525 million, non-recourse film finance facility. As for distribution, Universal Pictures has been confirmed to handle the matter for domestic market and several international territories.
