Rock band Weezer set to split

The indefinite hiatus of rock band Weezer seems to turn into a permanent split, as the band's frontman Rivers Cuomo stated to MTV recently "Really, for the moment, we are done. And I'm not certain we'll ever make a record again, unless it becomes really obvious to me that we need to do one."
Denied band tension as the reason for any split, Cuomo instead suggesting that it was all because there was no need for another Weezer album.
Cuomo said "The band is all back in Los Angeles, and I sometimes speak with Patrick, and I occasionally email with Brian and Scott, but we've never mentioned getting together".
