underneath all of the humour [in Paddington 2] is a huge heart and soulful emotional core to this more mystery-oriented story that also has some strong and lovely messages, which are inspiring and touching in equal measure
Paddington 2 is every bit as enchanting as the first, perhaps even more so, but it feels arbitrary to pick a winner. The film is a pure delight, as sweet and sharp as, well, marmalade, really
Paddington 2 is as perfect a film as anyone would have hoped for, it never strays too far from the original source material, but is often more than happy to bring a fresh and modern look to a well-loved story
it's a tremendously sweet-natured, charming, unassuming and above all funny film with a story that just rattles along, powered by a nonstop succession of Grade-A gags conjured up by screenwriters Paul King
almost unbearably wonderful [movie]... best of all, Paddington 2 presents a righteous moral message that's particularly appropriate for these troubled times
