this is a film, a deeply thoughtful and empathetic one, about how difficult it is ---logistically, on top of all the messy feelings--- to end a marriage
it's wrenching stuff to be sure, but it's also excruciatingly funny, loaded with empathy, compassion, and understanding too, featuring outstanding performances from its leads, Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson
