Nia Long and Omar Epps give it a try but even they can't save Fatal Affair from its by-the-numbers formula approach to the thriller genre we have seen so many times before, and this one borders on parody. Long deserves much better
in any case, "Fatal Affair" is one of those lucky efforts in which everything good about it is good and everything bad about it is fun; It's nowhere near a good movie, but I've seen better ones I've enjoyed less
a film too chaste to be a "Fatal Attraction" ripoff and far too boring to approach the hammy charms of "Obsessed"; amusement and originality is in short supply. A fatal affair? Only if you're liable to die from boredom
