Birth of the Dragon is an upcoming biographical martial arts film directed by George Nolfi, from a screenplay written by Stephen J. Rivele and Christopher Wilkinson. The film stars Philip Ng as Bruce Lee and Billy Magnussen as Steve McKee, and tells the story of Lee's legendary 1965 fight against Wong Jack Man. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on August 25, 2017.
A new TV spot for the film, titled "Legend," has been released online. The spot features footage of Lee and McKee training for their fight, as well as interviews with the cast and crew. The spot also reveals that the film will be released in IMAX theaters.
