Harper's Island Episode 1.05 Thwack

It's the day before their wedding and Trish is freaking out about all that still needs to be done. Henry tells Trish to take the morning off and spend time with her father, Mr. Wellington, while he handles all the final preparations. On a bike ride in the woods, Trish and her father trip a swinging log booby trap that knocks them off their bikes. Scraped up, they start the walk back towards The Candlewick Inn. They come upon a figure in the woods and ask for help. In response, the figure releases a rabid German Shepherd on them but before he can attack, Mr. Wellington kills the dog. They escape and make it back to the Candlewick Inn. Meanwhile, Henry is overwhelmed with all the wedding details. Looking for a way out of the wedding madness, he offers to find Reverend Fain. At the chapel, Henry finds a decaying animal carcass on the altar and knows that his brother, J.D. is responsible. Henry confronts J.D. and tells him that he never wants to see him again. J.D. tells Henry that he has one more surprise for him. Sheriff Mills and his deputy investigate the disappearance of Reverend Fain. At his home, they find unopened mail and unheard voice messages. Their search ends when they discover his dismembered body in the water attached to a fishing line. While her father, The Sheriff, is off investigating the disappearance of Reverend Fain, Abby goes to his house to pick up some of her clothes. While there, she discovers crimes scene photos and newspaper articles all focusing on John Wakefield. Seeing this, Abby realizes that her father thinks that Wakefield is still alive. The wedding rehearsal begins. At the altar, Henry stands with Trish and Mr. Wellington. Abby is asked to turn on the lights. When she does, a head spade inserted into the chandelier above Henry, Trish and Mr. Wellington drops, killing Mr. Wellington.
