Before taking Henry for an out-of-control joyride in a cab, his stalker, "Adam," killed the cabbie with an antique sword. While behind the wheel, Adam shoots himself in the head, leaving Henry in a driverless car. It plunges into the East River. Henry is spotted emerging from the water, naked, leading to an inopportune arrest. He explains to Lieutenant Reece that he sleepwalks.

Henry recognizes murder victim Raj Patel as the registered driver of the cab Adam stole, but can't let on that he was in the car when it went into the river. Abe advises Henry to trust Jo with the truth, but Henry says he tried that before with Nora in 1815 and she had him committed. Henry determines that Patel had recently gotten a hepatitis B shot, something commonly given to medical professionals.

Jo, Hanson and Henry examine the cab. Hanson recognizes the shell casing as belonging to an antique, turn-of-the-century gun. Henry goes to retrieve the gun from the water later that night. As he strips down to his shorts and prepares to dive in, he's interrupted by a police officer and arrested again. Lieutenant Reece is less than pleased that Henry's been arrested twice for indecent exposure in less than 24 hours. She orders him to see someone at Bellevue. Henry's therapist, Dr. Lewis Farber, is also British and tells Henry over tea, "We Brits must stick together."

Jo and Hanson go to the address where the gun was registered and find the owner on an operating table, dead and already autopsied. Henry determines that the autopsy was the cause of death. The victim was cut open with a hunting knife. Sure enough, the killer used Henry's own knife in an effort to frame him. Abe urges Henry to run, but before he can leave town, Jo arrives at the antique store, demanding an answer. Henry admits the knife is his and that it's the murder weapon. Abe advises Henry to tell her the truth, but he can't forget the barbaric treatment he received at the asylum 200 years ago.

Back at the station, Henry admits he has a stalker, one who believes he's immortal. He says he was leaving town to stop the stalker from killing again. Lieutenant Reece seems like she's about to tell Henry he's under arrest. Instead, she says, "We're going to catch this sonofabitch."

Henry and Lucas discover that both victims worked at Bellevue and were attacked by the same patient, but the hospital won't release the patient's name without a court order. Henry and Jo go to Farber and ask for his help. Farber tells them the patient is Clark Walker, who thought he was immortal. After assaulting both men, Walker was ordered to undergo daily therapy sessions, one of which is beginning right now. Jo orders a lockdown but a man manages to escape before it goes into effect.

Henry asks Jo if she ever suspected he was guilty. She never had a doubt that he wasn't. Later, at the antique store, Henry encounters Walker, who unsheathes his sword and begs Henry to kill him with it. The two men both go for the sword. In the scuffle, Henry stabs Walker with a letter opener. Walker is dead, so Henry realizes he wasn't the anonymous caller.

Hanson congratulates a dazed Henry on a "righteous kill." Jo tells him, "When you're ready to talk, I'm here." The phone rings. It's Adam, who tells Henry he convinced Walker he was immortal, like them. He instructs Henry to look out the window, and he sees, to his shock, that his stalker is Dr. Farber! Before leaving town, Adam/Farber wishes Henry a Merry Christmas.
