10 Things I Hate About You Episode 1.04 Don't Give a Damn About My Bad Reputation

Chastity's holding court in the girls' locker room, talking about her latest tryst with Joey, when Bianca walks in. She quickly changes the subject. Bianca, still intent on becoming part of Chastity's clan, wants to know what's up. Chastity pats her on the head and calls her a good girl. Bianca swears she's cool.. but the teddy bear she pulls out of her gym bag says otherwise.

At dinner that night, Bianca's in a particularly bad mood. She mourns her goody-goody status as Walter tries to convince her it's OK to be that way. Kat still wonders why Bianca even wants to hang out with that crowd. Bianca ignores them as she plots.

The next day, Kat and Mandella are hanging out at lunch. Mandella's chatting away, but Kat's distracted by Patrick lazing in the grass nearby. He gets her goat when he carelessly misses the trash can and leaves a wrapper on the ground. Mandella warns Kat about his bad rep when she goes to confront him about his eco-challenged ways. Kat tells him to pick up the trash, and he just throws something else on the ground. So Kat kicks the entire trash can over on him and says, "Now you know how the earth feels." Burn!

Cameron is still on "Mission: Get Bianca to Notice Me." His overaager pal Michael tries to help by accessorizing him with a scarf. As Bianca passes, she gives the scarf a thumbs-up. Cameron can't believe it worked! He gets Michael to give up more of his bling.

Pursuing her own mission, Bianca asks Chastity for a favor: Cover for her after school so she can see her "older boyfriend"? Chastity takes the bait and promisese she won't tell a soul. Yeah, right!

Kat's trash-can victory is short-lived. She ends up in Principal Holland's office with Patrick, who gets detention without even being allowed to tell his side of the story. After he leaves, Kat tries to explain that it was her fault, not Patrick's. Holland says fine, they can serve detention together. As she skulks away, she notices that Patrick left his backpack behind and grabs it. Holland orders Kat to return it to him.

Rumors are already flying about Bianca's mystery boyfriend. By pure chance, hunky teacher Mr. Boss asks he to stay after class and talk about her test. Chastity sees the convo, puts two and two together, and comes up with three. She immediately texts the entire planet with the identity of Bianca's secret boyfriend -- it's Mr. Ross!

Mandella and Kat stare at Patrick's backpack in fascination. They can't decide whether to look inside or not. Curiosity wins (with a push from Mandella), and the girls dump the bag out on the bathroom floor. Nothing special, Kat gets a case of the guilts and puts everything back.

Bianca's enjoying her new "popularity" when Chastity yanks her aside and tells her she knows who the mystery older man is. Biance balks when Chastity fingers Mr. Ross. But then she lets the lie live when Chastity tells her their friendship bridge is almost built. Popularity is on the horizon!

Kat finds Patrick and return the backpack. When he asks if she peeked, she lies and tries to ignore the guilt ball in her stomach.

Next class, and Bianca's dishing about Mr. Ross. Cameron comes in, looking like an extra in a Fall Out Boy video. She waves from across the room but otherwise ignores him. She tries to say otherwise but, while making her argument, she gets a little crazy with her pointy stick and stabs him in the foot.

In Holland's office, the school psychologist tries to get Bianca to reveal the nature of her relationship with Mr. Ross. she denies everything, but they're unconvinced. Afterward, she asks Cameron for advice, and he says she needs to tell Mr. Ross. She thinks that's a great idea and later calls Cameron the best G(ay)B(est)F(riend) ever. Cameron can't believe it. What's worse? Everyone hears her say it.

The cops cart away Mr. Ross. Bianca tries to defend him, but it turns out he was seeing another student anyway. Bianca thinks quickly and scolds him for cheating on her. Chastity watches and approves. Score one for Bianca's cool points.

While waiting for the school nurse with stabbed Patrick, Kat lets it slip that she went through his bag. Uh, maybe she IS obsessed, huh? Anyway, something's missing. As he limps into the office, she grabs Mandella and they search the bathroom. Bingo! She finds a keychain with a picture of a very young Patrick and a handsome dad-type.

As Kat and Bianca leave school after a VERY busy day, Kat sees Patrick across the lot. She holds out the keychain as he passes, and he grabs it and rides off. She just watched him go.
