Lance Armstrong Ended His Racing Career

The sportsman has announced his retirement due to family devotion, fight against cancer, and his foundation.

Cycling ace has announced his retirement from the sport so he can "devote" himself fully to his family. The seven-times Tour de France winner welcomed his fifth child into the world last year - his second with girlfriend Anna Hansen.

Cancer survivor Armstrong, who previously dated singer , made a cycling comeback two years ago but he has now turned his back on racing for good. In a statement he says, "Today, I am announcing my retirement from professional cycling in order to devote myself full-time to my family, to the fight against cancer and to leading the foundation I established before I won my first Tour de France."

Armstrong's last race was during the Tour Down Under in Australia last month.
