Juelz Santana: NJ Cops Only Want Money for Arresting Me

Although guns and ammos were allegedly found during the search, the rapper said police stopped him on the way to music studio because they think they can get a good amount of bail from him.

Rapper has taken aim at New Jersey authorities following his release from jail on Thursday, February 3, accusing officials of targeting him because he's famous. The star's Santana's World studio was raided by representatives of the New Jersey Bergen County Prosecutor's Office on January 20.

The search allegedly turned up two loaded handguns with additional boxes of ammunition and a large stash of marijuana. Officials took his protege Hynief into custody and later freed him on $50,000 bail. Santana, who was not at the premises at the time of the raid, was tracked down and arrested on Wednesday and charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a handgun without a permit and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

After a short stint in New Jersey's Bergen County Jail, he was set free after posting $125,000 bail, and the rapper is adamant he was only targeted because he is a rich and famous hip-hop star. He tells MTV.com, "Jersey, their laws is a little bit different. I'm definitely a target out here just because of who I am."

"They pull me over... only one way to get to my studio, so every day I gotta take that route when I'm going to my studio in Jersey, so I get pulled over at least three times a week, 'cause they know all my cars. They looking to get me, regardless. I don't know why. I haven't done anything. I do music. I'm not selling drugs like they said I was doing. I'm not doing none of those things."

"So at the end of the day, I just don't understand their need to imply all the things that they trying to imply. It's about money. They don't care about the criminals, they want that money. They said, 'We gon' (sic) get him, he can get high bail.' Whether the charges stick or not, they gon' (going to) get their money."
