Prodigy to Be Freed From Jail in March

His Mobb Deep bandmate Havoc said they would be reunited sooner than expected for his freedom would be gained on March 7.

rapper will officially walk free from prison in March after serving time for illegal weapons possession. The hip-hop star was sentenced to three-and-a-half years behind bars in October 2007 after he was found with a .22 calibre pistol on his person following a 2006 arrest in New York.

Reports suggested Prodigy would be released in February - but his Mobb Deep bandmate Havoc reveals they will be reunited a month later than expected. During an appearance on Shade 45 radio on Thursday, January 20, Havoc told listeners his pal will regain his freedom on March 7, when officials release him from the Mid-State Correctional Facility in New Jersey.

Prodigy has been keeping busy while serving time - he has started work on an autobiography.
