Susan Sarandon Honors John Lennon in His 30th Death Anniversary

She presents a two-part documentary called 'John Lennon - The New York Years' which also includes Yoko Ono, Elton John and his son Julian Lennon.

Hollywood actress is honoring the memory of with a special radio show on the 30th anniversary of his death. The "Thelma & Louise" star is presenting a two-part documentary focusing on the former Beatle's final years in New York City.

The show, titled "John Lennon - The New York Years" and broadcast on Britain's BBC Radio 2 on Wednesday, December 8 - features contributions from Lennon's widow , his lover May Pang, his son Julian Lennon, Sir , and .

Sarandon says, "John Lennon loved New York and New York loved him... the creative spirit of the city inspired John to create music with a freedom he'd never felt with The Beatles. He endured personal, legal, political and musical issues to eventually achieve contentment. But the freedom John enjoyed in New York eventually led to his tragic death."

Lennon was gunned down outside his home in the Big Apple on December 8, 1980.
