November 1, 2010, 6:16 am GMT

The Girls Aloud star blocks Rihanna from taking the first place and the Barbadian singer's 'Only Girl (In The World)' lands on the second spot.

Rihanna has been kept off the top of the British singles chart by Cheryl Cole, who claimed the number one spot with "Promise This". The Girls Aloud star's latest solo offering was crowned the favorite song of the week, leaving Rihanna to take the number two slot with "Only Girl (In The World)".

Bruno Mars was at three with "Just the Way You Are (Amazing)", while Cee Lo Green's "Forget You" was a non-mover at four. The top five was rounded out by "Cooler Than Me" by Mike Posner.

In the album chart, Kings of Leon retained the top spot with "Come Around Sundown" and Michael Buble climbed five to take second place with "Crazy Love". The winner of last year's "The X Factor", Joe McElderry, entered at number three with his debut album, "Wide Awake".
