'Avatar' Is Officially the Name of Chinese Mountain

James Cameron's sci-fi has been honored by Chinese as the movie's title is used as the name of a Mountain, which was originally called South Sky Pillar.

James Cameron's blockbuster "" has been given a sky-high honor in China - its own peak. As the film topples the moviemaker's "Titanic" as the highest-grossing movie of all time, Chinese officials renamed a mountain after the film.

South Sky Pillar will now be known as Avatar Hallelujah Mountain on maps and guides. The Golden Globe-winning movie is expected to be among the 10 films nominated for an Oscar next week, on February 2.

Since it was released on December 18, 2009, "Avatar" has earned some gongs at several awards events. Recently, the flick has been named as Best Motion Picture at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards and aided its director James Cameron to land Best Director gong at the same event.
