AceShowbiz - Hoda Kotb has shared an insight into her relationship with a mystery man. The co-host of "Today with Hoda and Jenna" offered details about her "fun" dates with her potential beau, whose identity she kept under tight wraps.
In the Friday, May 10 episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show", the 59-year-old TV personality spoke to host Drew Barrymore and a co-host about the reason why she enjoyed her dates with the mystery man. She said, "I hadn't been on a date in two years because that's when my past relationship had ended."
Hoda went on to share the details, "So I think it was just the kind of fun of talking about something that wasn't kids and wasn't work, it was just life. And I missed that." She then gushed, "And he's really handsome."
Noting that the unidentified man "brings her joy," Hoda further explained, "I'm different now than I was. For me, I feel like I have a lot of buckets that I want someone to fill like an emotional bucket is fun, a spiritual bucket, you know there's so many buckets in life. And I think I realize in my life that there's more that I want."
"I think before I was a pleaser. If he was happy then I would be happy. I want him to be happy. I just wasn't myself," she continued. "And now I've gotten to a point where if the date's not for me and it's okay. I'll say, 'Oh my God this was so much fun. You're a really nice guy.' Like I don't mind being myself and being confident and knowing what I want."
"I'm not trying, I'm not twisting myself in a pretzel to make everybody feel good all the time. 'Cause I've done that for most of my life and it was exhausting and you don't want to do that," the TV personality added.
The interview came a few months after Hoda revealed that she was introduced to the man by her co-host Jenna Bush Hager. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on March 8, she praised Jenna for being "a great picker." On March 12, she was spotted going on a date with a tall short-haired man in New York City.
