The 79-year-old's statement about the prospect of losing a significant source of income, potentially impacting his ability to maintain his California ranch, was just a hyperbole.

AceShowbiz - Tom Selleck is not at risk of losing his ranch despite his claim. The actor got everyone worried that he was strapped for cash as he lamented the end of his CBS series "Blue Bloods", but the actor is actually financially secured even without the show.

Sources allegedly with direct knowledge tell TMZ that the acting vet's interview with "CBS Sunday Morning" this past weekend was more hyperbole than reality. His statement about his 63-acre California ranch was a mere expression he used to share his desire to keep working, something he made very clear during the televised sit-down.

The sources assure that Tom is not going lose his ranch. In fact, his financial situation is reportedly 100% fine. Despite ending his tenure on the long-running police procedural series, the 79-year-old is not short of job either as he will reportedly move on to the next project.

Tom, however, did take out some loans on his Ventura County property dating back to the 2000s. The loans reportedly add up to about $15-$16 million in debut, although it's unclear how much of that is paid off at this point. The ranch itself is worth $12 million total.

Tom previously raised concerns among fans after he claimed that he's facing the prospect of losing a significant source of income, potentially impacting his ability to maintain his California ranch, after "Blue Bloods" ends its run.

"Hopefully, I keep working enough to hold onto the place," the 79-year-old said. He claimed that despite his success, the upkeep of a large ranch is substantial. "That's always an issue - if I stopped working, yeah," he added.

Remaining optimistic about his career prospects, Tom believes that "Blue Bloods" still has a strong following and hopes that CBS will reverse its decision to end the show. "We're the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast," he pointed out. "All the cast wants to come back."

Tom has starred on "Blue Bloods" since its first season in 2010. In November 2023, it was announced that the fourteenth season would be the last. The first ten episodes of the season began airing in February 2024, while the rest of the season, consisting of eight episodes, is scheduled to debut in October 2024, with the series finale set to air in December.
