The 'American Horror Story' actress' Harley Quinn convinces Phoenix's Arthur Fleck to escape Arkham Asylum as their bond develops since their first meeting at the mental institution.

AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa and Joaquin Phoenix unleash bad romance in the first teaser trailer for "Joker: Folie a Deux". Debuted on Tuesday, April 9 by Warner Bros. Pictures, the video shows how GaGa's Dr. Harleen Quinzel a.k.a. Harley Quinn and Phoenix's Arthur Fleck become partners in crime.

The dark and gritty footage begins at Arkham Asylum, where Joker a.k.a. Arthur is locked up alone inside a cell. Soon, his days become brighter as he meets Harley Quinn, a fellow patient at the mental institution.

The two quickly develop a bond and Harley Quinn convinces Arthur to escape from the asylum. Set to "What the World Needs Now Is Love", the video sees Arthur and Harley Quinn dancing together as they seem to find comfort in music.

"We use music to make us whole. To balance the fractures within ourselves," a man says in a voiceover. The video takes Arthur and Harley Quinn to the stage and streets of Gotham, before they are seen in chaotic madness.

"I'm nobody. I haven't done anything with my life like you have," Harley Quinn tells Arthur. As Harley finds the courage to break free with Arthur, he doesn't feel lonely anymore. "Tell us what's changed, Arthur?" Steve Coogan's character asks Arthur elsewhere in the teaser, to which he replies, "I'm not alone anymore. "

WB has not released an official synopsis of the "Joker" sequel, but it has been dubbed a jukebox musical featuring covers of well-known songs. Zazie Beetz returns as Arthur Fleck's former neighbor, with Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, Ken Leung and Harry Lawtey being cast in undisclosed roles. The psychological thriller is set to head into theaters in the U.S. on October 4.
