AceShowbiz - Dolly Parton has reacted to Beyonce Knowles' new announcement. After the Destiny's Child alum revealed that her new album "Cowboy Carter" may feature a "Jolene" cover, the country legend showed support to her via Instagram Story.
On Wednesday, Queen Bey shared a poster-style tracklist announcing all 27 song titles from her upcoming project, which appears to include a version of Dolly's 1973 hit. In response, the "My Tennesse Mountain Home" singer encouraged her fans to check it out, but under one condition.
"Listen to my original 'Jolene' while you wait for @Beyonce's COWBOY CARTER - Dolly P," the 78=year-old penned. She accompanied the message with a picture of Beyonce's poster.
Dolly first teased Beyonce's cover earlier this month. Speaking to Knox News, she said of the rumors that they have recorded a duet for the album, "Well, I think she has! I think she's recorded 'Jolene' and I think it's probably gonna be on her country album, which I'm very excited about that."
"I love her!" the philanthropist further gushed over the R&B diva. "She's a beautiful girl and a great singer."
Aside from "Jolene", Beyonce's country album will feature "Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit" and "Brought to you by KNTRY Radio Texas." There will also be "The Linda Martell Show", which is believed by many to be a collaborative song with Linda Martell.
The poster also displayed her previously released singles "16 Carriages" and "Texas Hold 'Em". In addition, it mentioned other potential song titles, including "American Requiem", "Blackbird", "Protector", "My Rose", "Smoke Hour", "Bodyguard", "Dolly P", "Daughter", "Spaghetti" and "Alligator Tears".
Beyonce is slated to release "Cowboy Carter" on March 29. Before dropping the country album, Queen Bey unleashed "Texas Hold 'Em", which made her the first black woman to ever reach No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs Chart. The track later arrived atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart with 19.2 million official streams and 39,000 in sales in the U.S. through February 15.
