In its second weekend, the fourth installment in Universal and DreamWorks Animation's movie series goes neck-to-neck with Denis Villeneuve's epic sci-fi sequel.

AceShowbiz - After its successful opening weekend, Universal and DreamWorks Animation's "Kung Fu Panda 4" remained king of the domestic box office for the second consecutive week, grossing an estimated $30 million from 4,067 theaters. The animated adventure surpassed the $100 million mark, bringing its 10-day domestic total to $107.7 million. Internationally, it earned another $39.6 million, resulting in a global tally of $176.4 million.

Not far behind was Denis Villeneuve's "Dune: Part Two", starring Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya Coleman, which took second place in its third weekend of release. The sci-fi epic grossed an estimated $29.1 million from 3,847 cinemas, pushing its North American total to $205.3 million. Overseas, the sequel earned $51.2 million, bringing its global booty to $494.7 million. It has already eclipsed the $433 million grossed by the first "Dune".

Lionsgate's "Arthur the King", starring Mark Wahlberg, debuted in third place with an estimated $7.5 million from 3,003 theaters. The film opened on the lower end of expectations but received an "A" CinemaScore from audiences, suggesting positive word-of-mouth could buoy its box office prospects.

Blumhouse's "Imaginary" held up surprisingly well in its second weekend, dropping just 44% to take fourth place with $5.6 million. The supernatural horror flick has now earned $19.1 million domestically.

Angel Studios' faith-themed drama "Cabrini" fell off a steep 61% in its second weekend, taking fifth place with an estimated $2.8 million. The film's domestic total stands at $12 million.

Focus Features' satirical comedy "The American Society of Magical Negroes" landed in ninth place with an estimated $1.25 million from 1,143 theaters. The film stars Justice Smith and David Alan Grier and has received mixed reviews.

A24's "Love Lies Bleeding", starring Kristen Stewart, expanded nationwide and placed sixth with $2.5 million. The crime thriller has earned a global total of $2.7 million.

Anthony Hopkins' "One Life", a Holocaust-related drama, opened in eighth place with $1.7 million from 983 locations. The film has grossed over $25 million overseas.

The domestic box office remains down 9.6% compared to 2023. Sony's "Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire" and Warner Bros./Legendary's "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" are expected to bring a boost to the year-to-date box office in the coming weeks.
