The 'Eternal Sunshine' singer has found a staunch supporter in 'Saturday Night Live' comic who will also appear with her in 'Wicked' amid unfavorable rumors about her love life.

AceShowbiz - In an episode of his podcast "Las Culturistas", "Saturday Night Live" cast member Bowen Yang spoke out against the online narrative surrounding Ariana Grande's new album, "Eternal Sunshine".

"The narrative is wrong," Yang asserted, emphasizing that the speculation about Grande's relationship with her "Wicked" costar Ethan Slater is incorrect.

Yang stated that Grande, despite not publicly addressing the rumors, is frustrated by the inaccuracies. He noted that individuals involved have even retracted their statements without apologizing.

"I can tell you for a fact that what people are latching onto is not true," added Yang, who will appear with Grande and Slater in the upcoming "Wicked" films.

Yang criticized the "unqueer, puritanical Christian" approach to marriage that has fueled the discourse surrounding Grande's relationships.

Grande recently expressed her dissatisfaction with the rumors on her album, particularly in the song "we can't be friends." Yang suggested that the song reflects the media's treatment of her.

Yang emphasized that Grande's "Eternal Sunshine" is not an autobiography, but rather a representation of her experiences with liberties taken. He praised her for her intentional portrayal of herself and others in the album.

"She could have put out a record saying, 'I'm protecting my image,' " Yang said, "but she didn't."

Yang also commented on Grande's recent performance on "SNL," where she appeared as a musical guest and in skits alongside him. He and his co-host clarified that they only discussed Grande's personal life because she had created art about it.

Grande's costar in "Wicked," Ethan Slater, has been the subject of speculation following the release of her album. His estranged wife, Lilly Jay, has accused Grande of breaking up their marriage.

Despite these claims, Yang and other sources have denied their validity.
