The 'Rain on Me' songstress elaborates the reason why she chose 'Yes, And?' as the lead single off her forthcoming album 'Eternal Sunshine', which will be released in March.

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande revealed her goal to make an epic comeback with her latest single following a four-year music hiatus. The "Rain on Me" songstress explained the reason why she released "Yes, And?" after taking a long break from music.

On Tuesday, February 20, the 30-year-old singer took to Instagram to upload a video documenting herself previewing a number of her songs, which will be featured in her upcoming album titled "Eternal Sunshine", for her label Republic Records. One of the tracks that she teased was "Yes, And?".

In the clip, Ariana could be heard saying, "Maybe try listening pretending you haven't heard the rest. But the reason why I kinda liked ['Yes, And?']... it's an all-encompassing, like, 'What the f**k?' Like, why aren't we all thinking with the cap of 'Everyone's tired, everyone is healing from someone or something that you can't see on the surface.' "

"Everyone is feeling that. That's why I kind of liked ['Yes, And?'] as a 'We're coming back,' " she continued. Before playing the song, she gave her team a disclaimer, "Pretend you don't know the rest. Pretend it's been three years since 'Positions'. And pretend this is, you've been, like, seeing me in a f**king blonde wig on the Daily Mail for the past year," prompting them to burst into laughter.

Noting that the particular track is not an "obvious" choice for a lead single, Ariana explained, "I think I kind of like that being first because it's a surprise, but also because it gives us a lot of a place to go." She added, "It's kind of like the 'Thank U, Next' formula, if you will, 'cause it's like 'Thank U, Next' came first because it had to."

In the same footage, Ariana was documented receiving positive comments from her team on her other singles, which will be included in her forthcoming album "Eternal Sunshine". However, they were censored when they mentioned the title of the tracks.

Ariana is slated to release her seventh studio album on International Women's Day, March 8. As for the lead single, she unleashed the track along with its accompanying music video in January.
