The 'Cry Me a River' hitmaker reportedly 'had hoped the backlash' from his ex-girlfriend's memoir would've dissipated by now, but it has just been reignited by his shady remark during his MSG show.

AceShowbiz - Justin Timberlake wishes less drama in his life, especially now that he's gearing up to release his new album. The former NSYNC member is reportedly "seething" over renewed drama with his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears that overshadows his new music comeback.

A source tells Page Six, "Justin had hoped the backlash [from Britney's memoir 'The Woman in Me'] would've blown over by now so that he could focus on his new album, which he's very excited about." As the latest headlines once again bring up his contentious relationship with the "Toxic" songstress, the so-called insider adds, "But every day is something new."

Justin has received a pushback from music fans after releasing his new song "Selfish". Instead of streaming his new music, Britney's devotees supported her by streaming her 2011 track, which had the same title "Selfish".

He was reportedly still "excited" at the time, with a source telling Page Six in late January, "He's very happy to be performing again and working on new music. He's all about having a good time right now. He's feeling reinvigorated and is doing what he loves, making the music he loves to create. He's never felt better." The source went on dishing, "He's healthy, rehearsing and getting in shape. He's excited and in a celebratory mood."

Britney, meanwhile, took the high road and apologized to Justin for spilling details of their past relationship in her book. "I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry…(sic)," she wrote on Instagram following Justin's performance on "Saturday Night Live".

She also supported Justin's new music, saying, "I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake's new song 'Selfish' [rose emoji] It is soo good and how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy together I laugh so hard ??? Ps 'Sanctified' is wow [starry eyed emoji] too (sic)."

However, Justin appeared to make a shady remark about his ex during his performance at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Tuesday night, January 30. "I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely f**king nobody," he boldly said on stage, seemingly taking back his apology to the "Lucky" songstress.

Britney later seemed to clap back at Justin via Instagram, writing on Thursday, February 1, "Someone told me someone was talking s**t about me on the streets !!!" She went on mocking him as adding, "Do you want to bring it to the court or will you go home crying to your mom like you did last time ??? I'm not sorry !!!"
