AceShowbiz - Is Avril Lavigne currently into a skater boy? The Canadian star has sparked dating speculation anew with Nate Smith after they were spotted on a skate play date, but the rumor has quickly been debunked.
After the duo's fun-filled night out in Los Angeles, a source allegedly with direct knowledge tells TMZ that there's no truth to the dating rumor. The source claims that there's nothing romantic about their relationship and that they just met to discuss future music projects. Similarly, a source tells PEOPLE of Avril and Nate's meet-up, "They are discussing a music project together."
The dating speculation surfaced after Avril and Nate enjoyed a night out together in L.A. On Monday night, January 29, the pair were seen having dinner together at Catch in West Hollywood. The pop-punk artist and the country music star were seen leaving the restaurant in matching black ensembles.
In photos circulating online, the twosome appeared to be in good spirits as they were all smiles while being caught by paparazzi. Following the fancy meal, they hopped on the back of a truck for a ride around L.A.
At one point in their drive, they stopped at a gas station. There they hopped out of the back of the truck with their skateboards and tried to mount them. While Avril managed to ride it along the sidewalk, Nate opted to carry it while walking behind the "Complicated" hitmaker.
Avril was last in a relationship with Tyga. Their romance began in February 2023, following her split from fiance Mod Sun. They broke up over the summer before rekindling their relationship in the fall, but it didn't last long as they reportedly decided to end the romance for good in October.
Following their brief fling, a source told Us Weekly of the exes, "There is no bad blood between them whatsoever. It was a clean breakup [but they] haven't spoken since because of their busy schedules."
